Designer Disability Homes – Our ‘Livable’ Range

Sheppard Homes specialise in designing ‘Your Home Your Way’, and in this instance we’ve taken it one step further. Our ‘Livable’ home, originally designed for a young child with a progressive disability that would leave him wheelchair bound, takes into consideration wheelchair ease of access and movement throughout the home.

Manoeuvring a wheelchair in Len Sheppard’s father’s home significantly influenced his approach to building designs at Sheppard Homes. Working with Margaret Ward at the School of Design and Faculty of Creative Industries at Queensland University of Technology, Sheppard Homes incorporates liveable
design features into their housing products.

The design elements and features allow ease of access and movement in the ‘Livable’ home design ideal for any family with a parent or child with a disability.
